Wild fish oil blend, 18% EPA and 12% DHA (Mackerel, Anchovy, Sardine)
Fish for your heart health, as research with the omega-3s' EPA and DHA has shown great promise in the areas of reducing hypertension, high blood triglycerides, and irregular heart beat. A landmark study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association 2001, examined the diets of 80,000 female nurses over the course of 14 years and found that the risk of stroke due to blood clotting can be reduced by almost 50% by eating fish two to four times a week. The authors believe that the benefits were gained through the omega-3 content of the fish. The evidence is so compelling that the American Heart Association recommends that everyone eat at least two 3-oz. servings of fatty fish a week. The latest research from Harvard Medical School shows that both of these fatty acids found in fish oils greatly improve bipolar disorder (manic depression). Both EPA and DHA are deficient in individuals suffering from aggression, dementia, Alzheimer's, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The best dietary sources include fatty fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel. However, consuming a fish oil supplement composed of sardines, mackerel and anchovies may be more convenient.

The fish oil in Ultimate OMÉGA 3-6-9 comes from cold marine fish harvested in the depths of the ocean. It is important to select fish that come from cold and wild areas because of the higher concentration in EPA (18%) and DHA (12%) of these oils. It is important to mention that these fish are not laden with any kind of antibiotics or growth hormones harmful to human consumption as in the case of fish bred in captivity. All our fish oils are compliant with the standards of the European Union, insuring that you are getting superior quality.
Borage oil, 12% GLA
Borage oil is nature’s richest source of the important omega-6 gamma linolenic acid (GLA), recognized for its health potentiating properties in a variety of areas. GLA, often known as the “woman’s EFA”, helps relieve symptoms of PMS including cramping, irritability and headaches. and a A bonus benefit is GLA’s natural beautifying properties helping to prevent wrinkles and keep skin looking soft and supple. GLA possesses potent anti-inflammatory properties making it the EFA of choice for inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and eczema. Although GLA can be synthesized from the raw material linoleic acid, found in vegetable oils, there are numerous dietary and lifestyle factors which disrupt this conversion. For example, consumption of sugar, alcohol, trans fats, and lack of minerals and vitamins can prevent the GLA transformation.

Flaxseed oil, Certified Organic, Cold Pressed, High in Lignans
Flax oil is nature’s richest source of the omega- 3 alpha linolenic acid (ALA). ALA has shown great promise in helping the body in prevent cancer prevention, improveing male fertility, protecting against heart disease, and in improveing immune function. ALA can also be converted by the body into other essential fatty acids (EPA and DHA) which are well known for their positive effect on brain function, and heart health.

However, flaxseeds provides other distinct benefits in addition to its ALA content. Researchers in Toronto, Canada found that as little as 25 grams of flaxseed daily (that’s about 2 tablespoons of ground flax) slowed down tumor growth in patients with breast cancer. The benefits of ground flax for cancer seem to be due to the high lignan content of the seeds. Lignans are a class of antiviral and cancer-fighting phytonutrients that act as strong antioxidants to normalize estrogen metabolism. Many women report that their hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness disappear after a couple of weeks of taking 2 tablespoons of high-lignan flaxseed oil daily.

Olive oil, extra virgin, Cold Pressed
For centuries, olive oil has been used to maintain the suppleness of skin, to heal abrasions, to give body and sheen to hair, and to soothe the drying effects of sun and wind. But olive oil has come along way.

Thanks to the traditional Mediterranean style diet (lots of fish, fruits, vegetables and olive oil), olive oil is known as a “heart healthy” oil. Dozens of studies have shown that replacing the saturated fat in the diet with the monounsaturated form found in olive oil improves the ratio of good cholesterol (high density lipoprotein, or HDL) to bad cholesterol (low density lipoprotein, or LDL). That, in turn, can help keep blood vessels unclogged.
Olive oil contains a high concentration (~80%) of oleic acid, which is an omega-9 unsaturated fatty acid. Omega-9s are a healthy type of fat that should be included in our daily diet along with the other essential omega- 3 and 6s. However when choosing olive oil, make sure you pick the extra virgin olive oil that has been pressed in a gentle manner with no additional heat as to not deteriorate the quality of the oil.

Vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol)
Vitamin E is an important antioxidant vitamin that protects the cells, including neurons, from oxidative damage. Vitamin E is a valuable additive to any EFA oil, as it prevents the oil from becoming rancid.
